Please join us on Thursday February 22nd at 5:00 PM in the Madorsky Theater to welcome photographer Sheila Pree Bright. This engagement will feature Bright in conversation with Daytona State College student India Pantin. Together they will address the imagery and themes from Bright’s exhibition #1960Now, currently on display at the Southeast Museum of Photography, followed by a Question and Answer section from the audience in attendance. This event is free and open to the public, refreshments will be served.
#1960Now is Bright's journey documenting the responses to police shooting in Atlanta, Ferguson, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Baton Rouge. She observed young social activists taking a stand against the same struggles their parents and grandparents endured during the era of Jim Crow.
