Persian Visions Contemporary Photography from Iran February 2 - April 23, 2008 This exhibitions, originating from the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, features more than 60 works of photography and video installations by twenty of Iran's most celebrated contemporary photographers. Persian Visions is a complex and layered view of Iran today. This exhibition was developed by Hamid Severi for the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, Iran, and Gary Hallman of the University of Minnesota. and was made possible in part by the ILEX Foundation, University of Minnesota McKnight Arts and Humanities Endowment and the University of Minnesota, and is toured by International Arts & Artists, Washington DC." André Kertész First and Last November 3, 2007 - February 15, 2008 André Kertész (1894-1985) is widely recognized as one of the most important and influential photographers of the twentieth century. This exhibition brings together the rarely-seen early work from his native Hungary - the famed "Hungarian Contacts" - with a comprehensive survey of late, great Polaroid work produced near the end of his life. Abbas Kiarostami Photographs and Film November 3, 2007 - January 12, 2008 Iranian photographer, artist and film director Abbas Kiarostami is known for the "radical humanism" of his depictions of ordinary Iranians in his award-winning films, and for the austere, abstract and contemplative qualities of his photography. This exhibition presents a comprehensive survey of Kiarostami's photographic art, drawn from five of his celebrated recent series with suberb color and black and white prints.
